12 days of writing: characters

Characters: what do they think of each other?

Grab a magazine or a newspaper and pull out five pictures of people (not celebrities or people you recognise). Give them each a name. For each one, divide a sheet of paper into four squares: in each square, write what that person thinks about the other four.

If you're building on your premise from yesterday, pull out the pictures first, then look at the roles and people in your story and cast each one to play a role. Could one be your main character? Then explore what they think of each other.

Tomorrow, we're writing... Place.
